CALL for Nominations

MICCA’s Nominations and Credentials Committee would like to announce the Call for Nominations. All current MICCA members can nominate a colleague, or yourself, to serve on the executive board with the term beginning on June 1, 2009.  Nominations are open from March 27 – April 13, 2009. 

MICCA is looking for organized, energetic teachers, administrators, supervisors, instructional technology directors, library/media specialists, and/or curriculum specialists at all levels of education who have shown interest in using technology to improve teaching and learning. Dr. TomeldenWelcome to Dr. Judy Tomelden, the new Executive Director for MICCA.

Dr. Tomelden brings to us a wide range of educational experiences, most recently as the Project Manager of the Technology Literacy Measurement grant. She was twice honored by MASCD, first for an online course program developed with graduate students from Prince George’s County Public Schools in the Towson University Cohort, and then for an action research project highlighting teachers in the Maryland Technology Satellite program.Dr. Tomelden wrote the instructional technology portion of the Bridge of Excellence Master Plan for her local school district and contributed to the Maryland Technology Plan. In addition to implementing staff development plans for the 17th largest school district in the US, she managed multiple USDE and MSDE grants. Congratulations to Jayne Moore named "Leader of the Year" by the State Education Technology Directors Association

BALTIMORE (November 18, 2008) – Maryland’s director of instructional technology this week was named Leader of the Year by the national organization representing state directors who oversee instruction and technology issues.

The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) honored MSDE’s Jayne Moore as its 2008 Leader of the Year, citing her work to strengthen instructional technology throughout the state. Learn More
